JUNGLE SAFARI

A safari is an overland journey, usually a trip by tourist. Previously it was taken as an expedition to observe or hunt animals in their natural habitat but today, safari often refers to trips to observe and photograph wildlife- or hiking and sight-seeing as well.Today the negatively hunting connotations of the word “safari” are being rapidly replaced by more modern associations with socially and environmentally responsible travel.

Etymologically the Swahili word safari means journey, originated from the Arabic safar meaning journey. Safari entered the English language at the end of the 1850s by Richard Francis Burto, the famous explorer.
