Yala Peak

16 Days

Overview

Yala Peak grants an unforgettable trekking experience in the Langtang Region of Northern Nepal. The expedition to this peak is known to be one of the closest from the capital city.  Elevating at the altitude of 5,700 metres, the peak has been categorized as non-technical climb which demands an average level of fitness to accomplish the summit. The path follows the popular Langtang Valley where one can relish the enthralling views of Dorje Lakpa (6,966m), Naya Kang (5,846m), TserkoRi (4,984m), Ganchenpo (6,387m) and numerous Tibetan mountains.

Apart from the scenic elegance, the trek also offers an unprecedented cultural experience. The place is rich in Buddhist-Tibetan culture where numerous ancient gompas like Kyanjin Gompa (3870m) and monasteries bless thousands of trekkers every year. Moreover, Yala Peak is considered as a transcendent vantage point of the highest mountain in entire Tibet, Shishapangma (8,013m), and the lowest among the 14 eight thousanders. If the luck favours, one can truly cherish the rarest sight of Red Pandas in the Langtang Region.  Thus, it is one of the most convenient trekking peaks for those who are seeking to initiate their mountaineering career; frequently summited as a preparation climb for Ganja La Chuli (5,844m).
